The Dublin Judicial Circuit Drug Court gives non-violent, drug-dependent defendants the opportunity to avoid jail time or have their case dismissed if they successfully complete an intensive drug treatment program. Drug Court clients must "pass" a program conducted at the Community of Mental Health, the outpatient treatment facility for the Superior Court. Each client must have a GED or equivalent, pay a $50.00 participation fee, undergo random and scheduled drug testing, and report to the Community of Mental Health for a minimum of one year. During this time, clients also make regular appearances in court before a Superior Court Judge.
Participation in the Drug Court is determined through a screening process by the defendant's attorney and the District Attorney.
