Wilkes County Superior Court
 

Created by Constitution of February 5, 1777, the county was named for John Wilkes, Member of Parliament and champion of American liberty and free press. The Superior Court of Wilkes County is located at 23 East Court Street, Washington, and presides over jury trials, rules on evidence, hears motions, and renders verdicts in bench trials. Each Superior Court Judge is a constitutional officer elected to four-year terms of office.


Terms of Court of Wilkes County commence on the 1st Monday in February, May, August and November.
